~The Thomas Arthur Arnold Fund for Excellence in Historical Research at the Zvi
Yavetz School of Historical Studies, Tel Aviv University, Israel, will award two oneyear
post-doctoral fellowships, of $30,000 each, in historical studies, for the academic
year 2018-2019.
Fellows will conduct their research under the supervision of a senior faculty member
from the School of History or from the department of Jewish history at Tel Aviv
University. Fellows are expected to reside in the Tel Aviv area. Tel Aviv University
PhD holders are not eligible.
Candidates must have received their PhD at an accredited institution of higher
learning no earlier than 1 October 2013 and no later than 1 October 2018. They are to
submit proof of receipt of PhD, three letters of reference, CV, a short description of
their proposed post-doctoral project, a writing sample, and an endorsement letter from
the faculty member willing to sponsor them.
Recipients are required to participate in the post-doctoral seminar of the School of
History. This year the seminar's theme will be, "Contextualizing the Self: Creating
and Recreating the First Person"

March, 1, 2018. Dossiers should be submitted to the Academic Committee, Arnold
Fund, School of History, Tel Aviv University, Israel. Letters of support are to be be
sent directly to the School.
