Missouri Southern State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of History beginning in August 2018. We are seeking a broadly-trained historian of Europe. The successful candidate will be able to teach advanced courses in modern Europe, as well as introductory courses in Western Civilization and either early or modern U.S. History. We are particularly interested in candidates with a secondary specialization in pre-modern Europe, Middle Eastern, African, or Asian history.
The position requires a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level; teaching load is four courses per semester. A Ph.D. is preferred, but ABDs will be considered.
