McNeese State University invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Non-Western History in the Department of History. This is a 10-month, tenure-track position. The appointment begins 1 August 2018.
Position Description and Responsibilities: The Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching 4 classes a semester, including 3 surveys in US or World History and 1 upper-level course in Asian, Middle Eastern, or African history; maintaining an active research agenda; and fulfilling administrative tasks as needed. The Assistant Professor will work closely with the faculty and staff of the Dept. of History.
Qualifications: Required: Ph.D. or ABD in Asian, Middle Eastern, or African History; ability to teach US and World History surveys; research potential. Preferred: PhD. in hand; teaching experience at the university level.
Salary: $45,000
