The History Department at Austin College invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in United States History since 1876. Teaching load in our 3-1-3 calendar (with a January term) will alternate between seven and six courses per year. We conceptualize the position to be based chronologically from the post-Reconstruction era through the Twentieth Century, with field of major specialty open. Ph.D. by August 2018 expected. Ability to teach Latino/a, environmental, and/or social and cultural history will be given preference. A commitment to teaching is of high priority, and evidence of successful undergraduate teaching experience is required.
