Governors State University seeks a United States historian of the Colonial Era or 19th Century for a one-year visiting position with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The successful candidate will teach courses in our freshman cohort program, upper-level requirements, and electives. The ideal candidate will also be able to teach courses in at least one geographical area outside the United States, preferably China, the Middle East, Africa, or World.
Scholars holding a PhD will be hired at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. ABDs will be hired at the rank of Visiting Instructor.
