The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at Smith College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Korean Language, Literature, and Culture, to begin July 2018. The position is a full time appointment with full benefits. The successful candidate will teach four courses in Korean language and Korean literature/culture in translation. Applicants must have a native or near-native fluency in Korean and English, a Ph.D. or ABD status with a specialization in Korean literature/culture, and experience in language teaching at all levels, with a commitment to excellence in scholarship and teaching. The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses that bridge disciplines, which may include environmental literature, film and media, or the study of women and gender.
Located in Northampton, MA, Smith College is the largest women's college in the country and is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research across the liberal arts. A faculty of outstanding scholars interact with students in small classes, as advisors, and through student-faculty research projects.
