The Faculty of Humanities at Leiden University invites applications for a full-time position as PhD Student (4 years) in Buddhist Studies.
The scholar will edit and critically study one or more of the sūtras in the Mahāratnakūṭa collection of Mahāyāna sūtras in Chinese, Tibetan and, as appropriate, Sanskrit. She/he will further contribute to a database which will provide the materials for alignment of the Tibetan and Chinese translations of this Mahāratnakūṭa collection.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of the relevant Buddhist languages, optimally Chinese, Tibetan and Sanskrit.
