DePauw University, a top-tier liberal arts college, seeks to hire a one-year postdoctoral scholar in the History Department for the 2017-18 academic year. Ph.D. defense successfully completed by the time position starts in August 2017, but not prior to 2014. The postdoctoral scholar will teach an African American history survey course, 19th Century U.S. survey course, and topics classes of the candidate’s own design drawing on scholarly expertise and interest in the Long Civil Rights movement and related subjects. Ability to promote a dynamic classroom environment based on inclusive pedagogies essential. The position will come with a four course teaching load, employment benefits, faculty development, presentation opportunities, and mentoring.
