Call for Proposals – Post-Doctoral Fellow
The Center for the Study of Conversion and Inter-Religious Encounters (I-Core), is seeking to recruit a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to work on questions of conversion and/or inter-religious encounters in the Indonesian-Malay world under the direction of Professor Ronit Ricci of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The research may be historical or contemporary but must involve work with primary sources in a local language (or languages). Exploring relevant interactions between the Indonesian-Malay World and the Middle East is an option. The Indonesian-Malay World is defined broadly to include the region covering present-day Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, southern Thailand, Brunei and the southern Philippines.
The term of appointment is for one year, from 1/10/2017 to 30/9/2018, with a possible extension of an additional year upon satisfactory performance. Fellows will receive a one year stipend of 100,000 NIS with additional funding for travel and research needs.
The Fellow will be expected to conduct independent research and to be an active member in the Center for the Study of Conversion - attending the bi-weekly seminars at Ben-Gurion University in Beer Sheva, and making regular contributions to the Center’s database of converts.
