The Department of History and Political Science seeks to fill a one-year visiting position in American History. We seek a broadly educated person to teach undergraduate courses in American history from the colonial era through the Civil War. The department emphasizes intellectual and political history and the use of primary texts in all courses. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a traditional liberal arts setting. A completed PhD is required.
