The Department of German at New York University invites applications for a Language Lecturer in German to begin September 1, 2017, pending budgetary and administrative approval.
The successful candidate would receive a three-year appointment. This position is renewable, but carries no implication of tenure. Language Lecturers teach a 3-3 course load, participate in extracurricular activities and may perform administrative duties as needed. The successful candidate must have superior-level proficiency in German and be able to teach all levels of undergraduate German language. Special consideration will be given to applicants with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research, as well as familiarity with current trends in second-language acquisition and foreign-language pedagogy, including integration of technology in the classroom. Minimum requirements: M.A. or equivalent in German language/literature/culture, Second-Language Acquisition, or Applied Linguistics.
