The College of Arts and Letters at Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor in the Science & Technology Studies program. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a field relevant to Science & Technology Studies including, but not limited to, History of Science and / or Technology; Sociology of Science; and Science, Technology, and Society. Candidates who focus on the social dimensions of science, technology, medicine, or the environment are encouraged to apply.
Preferred candidates will have a historical specialization and strong track record of historical research, and the candidate should be capable of teaching a course on the Scientific Revolution, as well as survey courses in the History of Science and / or Technology. Periodization is open so long as these teaching requirements are satisfied. Strong preference will also be given to candidates whose work embraces interdisciplinary themes and digital scholarship.
