The History Department at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year, Visiting Assistant Professor position in European History for the 2017-2018 academic year (this position is potentially renewable for two additional years). Though the area of specialization is open, candidates working on the Ancient, Medieval, or Early Modern era and/or with a focus on the diversity of European society are especially welcome to apply. Must offer evidence of experience in teaching and be qualified to teach an interdisciplinary, introductory course in European Studies. The standard workload is three courses per semester, including at least one at the introductory level. European History Ph.D. in hand by August 2017.
Members of the department are engaged in and support interdisciplinary teaching and research across the curriculum. We welcome applications from candidates who bring diverse cultural, ethnic, and national perspectives to their scholarly work and teaching.
