~~History Associates is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior Archivist in our Archives and Collections Management service line. History Associates is a leader in archival, collections, records management, and historical services. Our clients range from world-class cultural institutions to government agencies, from corporations to non-profit organizations. We assist clients in the management, development, interpretation, and use of their important and valuable historical assets. History Associates’ archivists work with our clients to develop robust archival programs, strategic initiatives, and tactical projects.
The position focuses on project execution, project and resource management, and staff development. The Senior Archivist will play a pivotal role in developing our growing Archives and Collections Management service line, adapting his or her knowledge and experience to provide solutions to a diverse client base, and ensuring 100% client satisfaction and responsible, on-time project delivery.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of Archives and Collections Management Primary responsibilities include:
• Senior role in providing archival consulting services to a broad set of clients across multiple business sectors
• Managing staff resourcing across divisional projects
• Providing project management for large scale projects
• Contributing to staff development through knowledge sharing and mentorship
Proven experience in client management and/or business development and demonstrated ability to manage projects within established time frames and budgets is a core requirement. The Senior Archivist will also be responsible for furthering the firm’s collective knowledge of archival services through professional development and training activities.
Required Qualifications
Only those applicants who meet the required qualifications will be considered
• Master’s degree in information management or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the archival profession
• Broad project management experience including client relations, budget and schedule management, staff supervision, and quality assurance
• Familiarity with the latest trends and best practices in archival services across all format types including digital records, and the ability to convey and apply that knowledge in a consulting capacity
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates a mastery of archival principals’ and practices
• Certified Archivist preferred
