~~Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ (Job 11570). The School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies (SHPRS) at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, benefits eligible Lecturer to teach undergraduate on-ground and/or online courses in the philosophy and history of the ancient world. The online B.A. degrees mirror the on-ground degrees offered by SHPRS; courses are in 7.5 week sessions. Teaching may occur in an on ground and/or online environment. This is a fixed-term, academic year (nine month) appointment with no tenure implications. Subsequent annual renewal is possible contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Anticipated start date is August 16, 2016.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree in history with a focus ancient Greece/Rome by the time of appointment
• Experience teaching ancient history
• Evidence of successful instructional experience at the university level
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience teaching History of Ancient Greece
• Experience teaching History of Ancient Philosophy
• Ability to teach Western Civilization and/or Global History sequences
• Evidence of successful online instructional experience at the university level
