The History Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time non-continuing faculty position of Latina/o History. Appointment to this position will be for a term of one year beginning Fall 2016 and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.

The incumbent will teach a total of five courses in the area of Latina/o History, including a one-semester survey. Other classes might address the history of the US Mexico Borderlands, social movements, immigration, sexuality and race, and/or topics to the candidate’s area of specialization.
Qualifications: Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D degree (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2016). Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
Compensation: Within the range established for this position, salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes an excellent benefits package.
