The Department of History at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (New Brunswick) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor to serve as coordinator of our public history certificate and our history internship program. We seek a dynamic teacher who will develop and offer courses in public history, including our history internship class, as well as survey and topics courses in American and/or Global History. Candidates should have experience and willingness to lead classroom projects that provide students with practical skills in curating exhibitions, collecting oral history, fostering community engagement and public collaboration, and/or creating websites.
Ph.D. in History, American Studies, or a related field, in hand by the start of the appointment, evidence of successful teaching, and experience in a public history setting required.
