Warren Wilson College invites applications from candidates who are broadly trained in United States social and cultural history since 1860 and who specialist in either U.S. women's history or African-American history. The successful candidate will teach both sections of the U.S. history survey, the department's core courses in U.S. women's history and African-American history, and upper-division courses in social and cultural history. Proficiency in a field of non-Western history (not including East Asia) is desirable.
This is a full-time, continuing faculty position in an extended contract system. Ph.D. required by August 1, 2016. Entry-level as well as mid-level candidates are encouraged to apply. The opportunity exists for a candidate with prior administrative experience to be considered for a rotating position as chair of the college's humanities division.
