Qualifications & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach Native American studies courses such as American Indian Literature, Native American Worldviews, and Global Indigenous Politics, additional courses in their area and time period of expertise, as well as contribute to the college’s general education curriculum.
A PhD in Native American studies or a related field is strongly preferred. Secondary specialties in American literature, American studies, ethnic studies and/or environmental studies also desired.
The regular teaching load is 3-3-1: three courses each in fifteen-week fall and winter semesters, and one course in our four-week May term. Teaching experience at the college level, as well as a passion for teaching at a small liberal arts school, is required.An active research agenda in the candidate’s field is expected.
The successful candidate will also serve the college community through student advising, committee work, and community outreach.
