The University of Rochester Humanities Center invites applications for its external fellowships, which will be awarded to two scholars who hold tenure-track assistant professorships at other institutions. Applicants may be in any field of humanistic study, including anthropology, art and art history, classics, English, history, modern languages and cultures, music, philosophy, or religion.
The Center supports continued engagement in literature, history, the arts, cultures, and philosophies past and present. The theme for 2016–17 is “Environments.” Fellowship applicants should be involved in projects that address the theme, broadly understood. Fellows are expected to be in residence in Rochester and will receive a stipend and a fund for research and travel. Fellows will participate in the bi-weekly Humanities Center seminar and in the Center’s other workshops, conferences, and programs.
The fellowship period is September 1, 2016, to May 15, 2017. The deadline for applications is Decenber 20, 2015.
