The Department of History at Washington State University seeks to hire an Instructor to teach courses in European history (pre-1500), World history, as well as a course in historical writing and methods that is required for the history major. Specific area of specialization is open and the candidate may teach courses in their area of expertise. The position is for two years and is renewable. This is a 100% academic appointment with an 80%-20% split between teaching and research. Instructors will teach a 4/4 load and will be expected to show evidence of continual progress in a well-defined research program in their area of specialization. Teaching experience is strongly preferred; Ph.D. by the time of appointment is required.
