The Department of History at the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track position in South Asian History (post-1600) at the rank of assistant professor, to begin in September 2016, subject to the availability of funds. As a part of normal teaching and research duties, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute broadly conceived courses at the undergraduate level and to be actively involved in the training and mentoring of graduate students.
Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2015 and continue until the position is filled. The applicant will be expected to have a PhD in History, South Asian Studies, or a closely related field in hand by September 15, 2016, and should be able to present evidence of scholarly accomplishment and effective teaching.
