ASSISTANT PROFESSOR EAST ASIAN HISTORY: The Department of History at Appalachian State University invites applications for a tenure-track nine-month faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in East Asian History beginning August 2016. Qualifications for the position include the Ph.D. in History or East Asian Studies with a focus on Chinese and/or Japanese history. Candidates who are ABD will also be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by August 2016. The successful candidate will teach a two-part course in East Asian history, upper-division undergraduate courses in his or her specialty, and contribute to General Education. Responsibilities also include maintenance of an active program of scholarship and participation in service activities.
