The Department of History and Geography at Georgia College seeks a historian of Early American History (Colonial period to 1815). Special consideration will be given to candidates who can teach upper-level courses in social/cultural and political fields. The appointment is a full-time, assistant tenure-track position. The successful applicant will teach US surveys, Early American history, and courses in her/his area of specialty. In addition the applicant will contribute to the teaching of the department’s undergraduate and graduate research and methods courses. Applicants will also have an opportunity to contribute to Georgia College’s ‘Critical Thinking Courses.’ The course load for this position is 4/4. Applicants must demonstrate an active research agenda, proven excellence in teaching at the college or university level, and have the Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment.
