The Faculty of Humanities at Leiden University invites applications for a fulltime university lectureship in the economies of modern Southeast Asia. We welcome applications by scholars whose work reflect sensitivity to historical and socio-cultural context, and the ability to position the economies of Southeast Asia in Asian and global configurations. Teaching will include undergraduate courses in the economies of Southeast Asia and the economies of South and Southeast Asia (comparative), contributions to introductory economics, and graduate courses in fields such as economic history, political economy, and economic development.
Appointment will be fixed-term from August 2015 through July 2018, with the possibility of extensions of up to three years, and of a permanent position thereafter.
