The University is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic leader as Professor and Head of School of the Tasmanian College of the Arts (TCotA) to provide both academic and strategic leadership in all aspects of research, research training, teaching, internationalisation and community engagement.
Established in 2013, TCotA is one of three newly merged Schools in the Faculty of Arts. The others being the School of Humanities and the School of Social Sciences. TCotA encompasses three academic programs: Art, Music and Theatre. The Academy of Creative Industries and Performing Arts (ACIPA), currently under development, is closely associated with TCotA.
Applicants will have a PhD, demonstrated capacity for academic leadership and an outstanding record of research and teaching in one or more of the College’s disciplinary areas. Strong commitment to quality teaching and effective research training, demonstrated success in generating funding and effective relationship management skills are considered essential.
The position of Head of School is offered for a fixed term of three years (renewable) and the Professorial appointment is continuing. The position is available in either Hobart or Launceston and travel to other campuses is required.
