The History Department at the University of Nevada, Reno is currently accepting applications for Lecturer (Shared History Coordinator).
The Shared History Coordinator teaches at all levels of the university curriculum, including advising senior theses and working with graduate students. The course load is 5 courses annually. In addition, the Coordinator works with students, faculty, and community partners in the creation of oral and public history physical and virtual exhibits. This includes writing grants, hosting workshops, organizing exhibit openings, supervising students workers and interns, and public outreach about the department’s Shared History Program.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D in History or a related field. The successful candidate will have administrative experience, especially with creating and managing community history programs. Experience in oral history, working with K-12 personnel and students, and curating exhibits at historical institutions is required. A record of successful fundraising and familiarity with digital and/or Nevada history are preferred.
This is a .83 FTE position. This position is contingent upon funding and performance and is renewable for up to two additional years.
