The Department of History and Geography at Columbus State University invites applications for a one-year Temporary Lecturer position in U.S. History, 1860-1945.

The successful candidate will teach both introductory survey courses and upper-level/graduate courses each semester.
Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. in History (or a related field) and university teaching experience are preferred but applications from ABDs will be considered. Specialization within the field of American History is open, but a focus on labor, gender, race/ethnicity, and/or southern history will be given preference. Candidates with experience in Digital Humanities are encouraged to apply.
Formal review of applications will begin May 26, 2014 and continue until the position has been filled. Applications for part-time and full-time faculty positions must include transcripts of all academic work, and official transcripts must be presented prior to campus visit if selected for interview. Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
