The School of Architecture & Design is an interdisciplinary research and teaching environment across architecture, interior design, furniture design, landscape architecture and timber material science. The School is renowned for its high quality studio-based teaching with a strong learning-by-making tradition.
The University is seeking a Professor / Associate Professor of Architecture and Design to lead interdisciplinary design research, research training, teaching and practice that confirm the significant contributions architecture and design make to an agile development environment. The Professor / Associate Professor will lead globally relevant research projects that draw on being located in Tasmania, contribute to curriculum aligned to the expertise and local advantage of the University, and engage with a wide range of community and professional stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a PhD and an international reputation in a core design discipline with successful research collaborations, strong commitment to quality teaching and effective research training, demonstrated success in generating funding from a range of sources and proven leadership and effective relationship management skills.
This continuing appointment is located in Launceston. Travel to other campuses is required.
