The Utica College Department of History seeks to fill a position in African American History at the level of Assistant Professor.
Each semester, the candidate will be required to teach two sections of a survey in The African American Experience, and two upper-division courses in his or her areas of expertise.A specialty in the roots, course and outcomes of the Civil Rights Movement, and the continuing rights revolution are requisite. Desired subfields are the legacies of slavery and colonialism, and Pan-Africanism. Applicants must have expertise beyond US borders.
Ph.D. in (African) American History in hand; ABD in (African) American History will be considered.
Significant experience teaching college history courses, prior teaching experience preferred.
