Tenure track positions, contemporary history/open field

The Department of History at the University of Haifa, Israel, invites applications for two positions.
(1) Tenure track position in European and/or American contemporary history. The position is open to any rank and is pending budgetary approval by university administration.
(2) Tenure track position in European and/or American history, open field. Successful applicants will be nominated to early-career fellowships for scholars holding Israeli citizenship, administered and awarded by the Israeli Council of Higher Education (Allon/Maof Fellowships, http://www.che.org.il). Fellowship winners will be granted a university position with full faculty responsibilities and are guaranteed tenure evaluation by the University.
Applicants to both positions must have the Ph.D. and a demonstrable commitment to both teaching and research. The successful candidates will be expected to teach four courses per year (undergraduate, graduate), supervise theses, and carry usual nonteaching duties. Primary teaching language: Hebrew. Salary according to scale. Positions beginning October 2014.
