The Department of History at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a one-year visiting position in South Asian history beginning in the fall of 2013. We welcome both PhD and ABD scholars representing various specialized fields and interpretive approaches. Research interests are open although the candidate must have research proficiency in at least one South Asian language and be willing to teach both modern and early modern surveys. Teaching will include introductory and possibly upper-level courses in the History and Asian Studies departments.
Hobart and William Smith Colleges are a highly selective residential liberal arts institution located in a small, diverse city in the Finger Lakes region of New York State.
