The Department of East Asian Studies at New York University invites applications for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor in modern Chinese literature and culture. Appointment will begin September 1, 2013, pending budgetary and administrative approval. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. by August 2013. The Department seeks a scholar with broad, possibly interdisciplinary intellectual background, who will teach primarily undergraduate courses on modern Chinese literary and cultural texts and theories.
Application must include a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and three references. The search committee will begin reviewing applications on February 1, 2013 and will continue until the position is filled. Interviews might be conducted at the AAS convention.
