Assistant Professor, Public History, Tenure Track - all fields considered —The Department of History at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette seeks applications for an Assistant Professor in public history to contribute to its undergraduate and growing M.A. program, which, because of a generous charitable gift can now provide funded internships, fellowships, and other resources to graduate students. The ideal candidate will offer a variety of graduate classes in public history, and the department is particularly interested in someone who can incorporate digital media methods in courses and directed projects. Applicants with formal graduate training in public history combined with some practical experience are especially desirable. Field of specialization open. Teaching includes undergraduate surveys and upper level courses as well as graduate courses. Ph.D. in History required by time of appointment. UL Lafayette is located in Acadiana, the region of southwest Louisiana known for its Cajun and Creole heritage, and has an enrollment approaching 17,000.
