The Department of History at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a tenure-track position in the history of the Trans-Mississippi West since 1800, including Native America, at the rank of assistant professor, to begin in August 2013. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching nine hours each semester, including up to two sections of World Civilizations or American History surveys according to department needs, along with upper-level undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialization, for maintaining a program of research and publication, and for supporting the M.A. program. The dissertation and all other work for a Ph.D. in history or a closely related field must be completed and approved by January 31, 2013, when review of applications will begin. The position will remain open until filled. Teaching experience and scholarly publications are preferred.
