The Department of History at NYU seeks to appoint a scholar of early modern Chinese history (before 1900) to teach in our undergraduate History program, effective September 1, 2013, pending budgetary and administrative approval. Candidates need to have a Ph.D. degree by July 2013. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Visiting Assistant Professor for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year, and will teach four courses per year.
