The Department of History at Idaho State University seeks a tenure track, assistant professor in digital history. The field of specialization is open. Because the department has a separate opening in historical GIS, that criteria will be given less preference for this position. The department welcomes candidates whose work addresses either applied public history or academic research. A Ph.D. in history or related field is required at appointment in August 2013. Successful candidates will demonstrate a growing record of scholarship, commitment to teaching, including distance-learning and high-quality online courses, and potential for successful grant funding. Specific teaching duties include undergraduate and graduate courses and training graduate students in digital tools of research and education. Review of applications begins December 10, 2012.
