Modern China: Butler University announces a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in Chinese history beginning August 2013. Preference will be given to candidates working in modern Chinese history, from the Qing period onward. Applicants should expect to teach introductory courses in Asian history and to contribute to a comparative world cultures program in the core curriculum. The person we hire will also have the opportunity to contribute to any of several interdisciplinary programs at Butler. Candidates should have PhD in hand by August 2013 and be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching.
