The Department of History at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in African, Middle Eastern, or South Asian history to begin in August 2013. The successful candidate must be able to teach World History surveys in addition to undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of specialization. Ph.D. in history or equivalent degree in a related field is preferred by the time of appointment, but advanced ABD applicants will also be considered. The standard teaching load in the department is 12 hours per semester.
