The Department of History, West Chester University, invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in History and Social Studies Education to teach a course on secondary social studiesteaching methodology and supervise student-teachers as well as contribute to the teaching of graduate and undergraduate history courses, including relevant survey courses. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to those with a background in some aspect of world/global history, in genocide and/or with the ability to teach online/hybrid courses. Secondary school teaching experience and/or certification a plus. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester and may including teaching at off-campus sites and/or through distance learning. Applicants must demonstrate successful college teaching experience and provide evidence of scholarly promise. Earned doctorate is required at the time of appointment. Finalists must successfully complete the interview process and teaching demonstration.
