The Department of Philosophy, History and Politics (PHP) at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia, invites applications for a tenure-track position in History and Politics at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The Department of Philosophy, History and Politics is seeking a Historian who can conduct interdisciplinary research, develop new courses in the areas of History and Politics, and support new programming initiatives under the theme of “Power, Politics and Justice” (see “Arts 5 Year Plan 2011-2016” at www.tru.ca/arts.html). A focus on conflict studies is preferred (e.g., military history and global strategic studies) but curriculum development related to other theme areas will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a program of scholarly research leading to publications, effective teaching, and service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D in History or completion of doctoral degree by date of appointment required
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and innovative course and program development
