Penn State Erie, The Behrend College
The History program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, invites applications for a tenure-track position as assistant professorof American history (before 1877) starting August 2012. Responsibilities include teaching survey courses in U.S. military history and the first half of U.S. history, plus advanced courses on Colonial/Revolutionary America and the Civil War and Reconstruction. Scholars with the ability to also teach African-American, Latin American, or gender history are especially encouraged to apply.The position requires excellence in teaching and scholarship, as well as involvement in college and departmental service. Ph.D. required by August 2012 for appointment to assistant professor. College teaching experience preferred.
