Modern Europe/Holocaust and Genocide Studies. The Department of History at the University of Nebraska at Omaha solicits applications for a tenure-track position in Modern European History. The successful candidate will receive an auxiliary appointment as the Louis and Frances Blumkin Professor for Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Appointment will be at the assistant professor rank, to begin in August 2012. The successful candidate will teach nine hours each semester, including up to two sections of World Civilizations, depending on department needs; maintain a program of research and publication; and support the M.A. program in history. The dissertation and all other work for a Ph.D. in history or a closely related field must be completed and approved by January 10, 2012, when the evaluation of applications will begin. The position will remain open until filled. The university and department have a strong commitment to achieving diversity among faculty and staff.
