Montclair State University’s Department of History seeks to fill an assistant professorship in the history of the Mediterranean region during the early modern era (15th-18th centuries) to begin September 1, 2012. The department welcomes applications from scholars specializing in the social, cultural, economic, environmental and/or political history of any one or more of the Mediterranean’s constitutive regions, including but not limited to the Maghreb, the Levant, and the Balkans, as well as the Anatolian, Aegean, Italian, and Iberian peninsulas.
The successful applicant will have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment and be able to show evidence of an active research agenda.
