The History Department of Temple University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the field of Europe and the World. Geographic and chronological specializations are open. The department seeks a scholar whose research emphasizes the relationships and connections of a European nation or nations with other global regions. Candidates should be able to teach courses in a national field of expertise as well as broader courses in global and/or imperial history. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to Temple's undergraduate General Education program and participate in the History Department’s graduate program, which has particular strengths in international and transnational history. Candidates will be interviewed at the AHA meeting in Chicago and the successful candidate must have the PhD degree in hand by August 2012.
