The History Department of Gonzaga University, a nationally-ranked liberal arts and sciences university, seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor appointment beginning August 28, 2012. Teaching load is nine-hours each semester. Salary and benefits are competitive. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in American History or closely related discipline, or ABD to be completed by August 28, 2012; evidence of scholarly expertise and teaching effectiveness in the history of African-Americans or other minority groups in the United States, with a preference for candidates who can also teach Atlantic World, African Diaspora, and World Civilizations; evidence of commitment to scholarship.
