U.S. History, Women, Gender and Sexuality, pre-1900
The Department of History at Emory University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of U.S. history with expertise in the history of women, gender and sexuality. Chronological interest could range from the colonial era to 1900. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose work intersects with the department’s strengths in the history of race, slavery, the American South, and religion. Ph.D. and strong credentials in teaching and scholarship required. Ability to contribute to both the undergraduate and graduate programs in U.S. history is essential. Letter of application, c.v., and three confidential letters of recommendation should be sent to: U.S. Search Committee, Department of History, Emory University, Atlanta, GA 30322. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2011. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the AHA. Emory University is an AA/EOE.
