Medieval/Early Modern Europe
The history department at Western Oregon University seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor with a specialization in Medieval Europe and the ability to teach Early Modern European History. The position begins September 15, 2012. The successful candidate will develop courses in the area of specialization, offer courses in Western Europe and survey courses in World History. The candidate needs the PhD in hand by June 2012. College-level teaching experience is preferred.
The department has a four-year-old MA program and a robust undergraduate program. Faculty members participate in a variety of interdisciplinary minors across campus. The successful candidate will teach the World History survey sequence and upper-division and graduate courses in fields outlined above. Department faculty rotate teaching Philosophies of History, the Senior Seminar, and a graduate Methods, Research and Writing course. (www.wou.edu/history)
