Samford University’s Department of History invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of East Asian history beginning August 2012. The Ph.D. is prerequisite for consideration for this position. Candidates must have the ability to teach in Samford’s first-year humanities core curriculum. Specialization is open, but candidates must also have the ability to teach Chinese history. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarly potential. Samford University is affiliated with the Alabama Baptist Convention, and candidates must support the university’s Christian mission.
The search committee will begin reviewing applications October 14, 2011, and continue until the position is filled.
