The UAF Department of History seeks to appoint an assistant professor of United States history to a tenure-track position. Preference will be given to those with expertise in Environmental or Women's History, and the ability to teach a Modern World survey. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching, an active research program, and commitment to university service. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to teach lower and upper division undergraduate courses; to pursue research that leads to peer reviewed publications; and to provide service to the University and Fairbanks community. A PhD in History is required by the beginning of the contract period.
